ZOOpendous---PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE
has worked extremely hard teaching all of us how to sing barbershop harmony properly. It has been rewarding to watch the growth of all our members over the past year; and has renewed our love and appreciation for the organization of Sweet Adeline International, Inc.
We now have a capable, experienced Assistant Director, Beverly Lawrence from Asheboro, NC. Bev has a major in music along with many years directing church choirs and teaching voice, piano and hand bells. She sang briefly with Rich Tones and in a local quartet for many years. With her strong, supportive leadership and her eagerness to learn the barbershop style, we know that we can accomplish our future goals.
Over the past year we have performed for 21 audiences, we have gained several new members and sadly said goodbye to a few, but we proudly hold our membership at 30. We held our third membership night on January 26 and frequently find an unexpected guest or two coming through our doors to see what we are all about. We fully realize that building a strong chorus is an on-going, constant process that we are prepared to continue.
We are centrally located in North Carolina and have been able to draw members across a full 60 mile radius. We have active members coming from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Kernersville, Booneville, Lexington, Asheboro, Rockingham, Staley, Southern Pines, Pinehurst and too many small towns around and in between to name.
If YOU, or someone you know, are looking for a Sweet Adeline Chorus home, please come visit with us and see if we might just be a good fit for you. We have such great plans for the new year and we would like to share these plans with many new members. First and foremost on our calendar is our plan to be on stage for contest in April, 2012. See you there!
